PAINTING STUDIO Mother And My Three Sisters by Stephen Craig Rowe

"Family first, then friends, then family first."  Stephen Craig Rowe
I looked everywhere but could not find one photograph of Mother and my three sisters so I put up an image that is part of a painting.  Soon am sure to have plenty of photographs of Mom and my three sisters because they are visiting me this weekend.  I can not begin to tell you how very happy I am and anxious to see them.  Of course all week long I have been cleaning floors, windows, carpet, bleach the kitchen and washroom, polish the pots and pans, scrub the porch, scour the sinks, dusting, vaccume, sweep, mop, wax the woodwork, shave shower and buff my little bald head to a high gloss.   Don't want mother and my three sisters to think that I am just an degenerate artist.  Smile and wink.
Really the place is looking spick and span enough to host the Pope or a head of state.  Oh shit!  I should have gotten a red carpet.  At least I brought some of the roses in and they look very nice.  My sister Pam and her girlfriend Chris will arrive from near Green Bay, Wisconsin later this night and I can hardly wait.  Mom, Kathryn and Carrie will arrive from near Cleveland, Ohio on Friday night.
On Saturday night we will go to dinner at Jim's Steak House http://www.jimssteakhouse.net  in downtown Peoria to celebrate Pam's birthday, my birthday and kind of retirement, as well as a rememberance of Father who passed one day after my birthday last year.  Ok, I know I pimp the Steakhouse every chance I get but one must remember that I worked there for ten years and it is the finest establishment in the midwest.  When the cleaning was done and all spick and span I thought "Oh, no, all I have to drink here is coffee and gin".  So I went to the market and bought some German wines for the sisters, vodka for Mother with mixers and fruit for all.  Am going to give the Painting Studio a final sweep and walk through before Pam  and Chris arrive in an hour or so.
Ya know, I am sitting here now just looking around the place, the painting studio, my home, the paintings on the walls with expectation of the visit with Mother and my three sisters.
It is indeed a blessing and
    as ever be well.

I would have to say that you have certainly been busy. Exhausting busy!
::Seth looks around his place:: Yeah! My place could use a good cleaning, this walking into a room and sweeping it with a glance is just not enough! :o( Maybe if I lay down the feeling that I need to clean will pass. Bwahahaha!

When you were a cat, your mom took good care that you had a soft place to curl up on and plenty of food and water. She took on the cares of the world for you. No wonder you were sad to see her leave today but she will be back as she is ever mindful of you. That won't change.

I loved reading about the cleaning spree. I remember one time while mother was still alive, that a close girlfriend came over with her toddlers to play with mine and saw I was scouring the kitchen for all it was worth. She said "You mother is coming to visit". It was a statement, not a question. I said "How did you know"? She said "you're cleaning like a whirlwind trying to get everything sparkling before she gets here"!

    Cleaning? Bah! HUMBUG!!!!

I follow the ancient code of bachelors - only clean when it blocks the door!!! :o)

OK, so I clean whenever I feel guilty, there's a ton of dust on my PC's - and in them - but they run well enough!!! LoL!!!

    God Bless dude!

Steve, It was lovely to sit and visit with you on Tuesday evening at Jim's. You have always been a pleaseure to see and chat with at Jim's and you had been missed by us. I was thrilled you happened to come by whilst we were there. Your story has touch me deeply and I am keeping you in my heart and prayers always. Sending you positive vibes, every day, even whilst I am in Bristol England. I came here to Bristol, my home in the UK on Wednesday. Our dinner at JIm's was the last one for about 6 weeks. I come here to share taking care of my mum. My sister comes here from France for between 5 and 6 weeks, and I go home to Steve in East Peoria, then I return here for 5-6 weeks and Catherine, my sister goes home to France. Mum is very poorly and can't be left alone any more and there is no way we will put her in a nursing home!!! I guess because of my stints in Bristol, taking care of mum is always on my mind, is the reason I was concerned about who looks after you when you have had your treatments etc. I worry! I need to go, I have to take my sister to the train station, for her train to the airport. I am sad we only got to spend the day together but that is better than none at all.
I am thrilled to be able to keep up with your Blogs Steve, and will look forwrad to reading them.
Have a marvellous time with your mum and sisters and have a blessed and wonderful birthday. Hip hip hooray, and here's to many more. I toast you, Love Michele (and Steve)

Dear Stephen, I am so happy for you that your mother and sisters are coming for a visit. I can hear the excitement in your writings. Nothing like family to brighten one's day. I don't live too far from your Mom about three hours drive I would say. Small world huh? Anyway enjoy their company and as you say: "as ever be well" Have I told you how much I like this saying. Hugs and Happy Birthday.
